What is a Blog you may be wondering.
Well, as I understand it, the word comes from a contraction of Web & Log - ie "WeBlog". A Blog is set up on a site to allow contributors to post comments and replies on a specific topic or topics as they desire. It is an electronic discussion so to speak where contributors can raise issues and solicit comment. It allows people to connect accross great distances and at times when they may not be able to be physically present. It can be a valuable medium to air issues and concerns.
Like all constructive discussions, there needs to be tolerance and respect for other peoples views. Although I hasten to add that the occasional "dig" in a good natured way never goes astray! But "flaming" is not polite. Flaming is being overly offensive and abusive of other people and their views, beliefs, physical and mental capacities etc.
Anyway, all that said; Ken Wall has set up a Blog site at a provider called Ning and if you wish to become a member of that Blog and contribute from time to time, please click on this link - Ning Blog.
The link will take you to another site where you will need to register and provide a password. It provides fairly straight forward directions and you will get the hang of it before too long. If you run into a problem at any stage, I have no doubt that Blog Lord Ken will be only too happy to give you guidance - ring him anytime of the day or night - he's particularly good at providing advice in the wee hours I understand! You may cop a bit of flak from Angela though!
It is also possible to set up a Blog within this site. But we will see how the Ning thing works for a while. Maybe we can set one up here if it gets some use - that's assuming your Webmaster can figure out how to set it up within this website server!
In the meantime - give it a go! It dosen't cost you anything and it's quite secure and it won't hurt - really!!
