The first Market Day for 2010 was held on Sunday 24 January. With School Holidays still on and the "long weekend" for Australia Day, numbers were a bit down on the Stalls but we saw plenty of well satisfied patrons pass through the entrance. The nearby Manningham Club has Breakfast available and for those coming later in the morning when the sun is higher in the sky, other refreshments are available after a hard morning stocking up with fresh produce. Whatever the weather, our patrons have come to know what to expect from the stall holders and go away well satisfied with the their purchases. Some of our stall holders can still sell out of product early even after adjusting stock levels from previous market days and also head home with smiles on their faces.
The market operates from 8:00am to 1:00pm
on the fourth Sunday of each month (except December) with up to 70-80 stalls trading. The market features many fine produce stalls seen at other markets in and around Melbourne. Many will be familiar to regular visitors to the Whitehorse Farmers Market held on the second Sunday of each month at the Whitehorse Civic Centre.
A terrific range of produce including vegetables, seasonal fruit, meat, bread, eggs, olive oil & olives, cheeses, chutneys, jams & a mouth watering range of home made products including cakes, confectionery, relishes, salsas etc are featured. Needless to say, like all Farmers Produce Markets, the growers and producers are only too willing to offer tastings! Several food stalls trade regularly and cold drinks, tea and coffee are available both on site and at the adjacent Manningham Club.

The Rotary Farmers Produce Market is currently being held with the support of The Manningham Club and the approval of the Manningham City Council. Access to the current site at 1 Thompsons Road (Melways 32 D10 - just off the Eastern Freeway) is from either Thompsons or Bulleen Roads. Ample parking is available with ongoing support from The Manningham Club. The Manningham Club continues to offer a discount on their in house breakfast to market patrons before or after they have done the rounds of the stalls. All patrons are invited to enjoy the facilities of the Club at any time.
This is your
chance to not only have a local and convenient source of fresh, good quality
produce, but also to partner the Rotary Club of Templestowe in its
mission to support many groups locally and internationally. These groups benefit from
Rotary’s commitment to help those in need – wherever they are in the world.
Patrons continue to generously respond to the Club's request to make an entry donation of a gold coin which will help them fund their annual program of local and international community projects. A brunch BBQ stand using stall holders' produce is a popular stop for those in a hurry. Funds raised from this stall support Community groups associated with The Manningham Club
